“Feeding a Man’s Ego” | “Vulnerable”
36 x 52in Acrylic on Canvas
The figures are strippers, putting all they have on display for eyes to see, this piece is unfinished, so the eyes will glow green representing envy and greed. The concept is about putting yourself on display for the benefit of others. This piece will be finished at a live painting this Wednesday.
”Angels at Blanco”
24 x 30in Oil on Canvas
A live painting done to honor the only women of color at the “Noche Blanco” dinner party competition. Aline with the lawyer in charge we received the honor of First Place Table as I live painted the scene.
“Father Did This” Master Study
16 x 20in Oil on Canvas
This was a master study of Caravaggio’s “The Sacrafice of Isaac”. This piece shook me to my core and I knew it would be a great master study. As it reminded me of the emotion that shook me when I heard the story. Abraham is depicted at the moment he was stopped from sacrificing his son.
“Day in the Desert”
16 x 20in Acrylic on Canvas
This Landscape was based upon the Grand Canyon with its rolling hills.
“Heavy Hands” Women’s Bathroom Series II
24 x 20in Oil on Canvas
In the addition to this series a maternal love and a child’s reception to it. In this memory of connection between a motherly figure and a young girl, you see a glimpse of a love that is needed although sometimes unwanted or perceived as painful or unfair like someone doing your hair with “Heavy Hands”. But they are still doing something for someone outside of themselves, and that is love.
“High Fashion” in turquoise
24 x 30in Acrylic on Canvas
A painting made for the little girls to see themselves in higher regard. To see themselves and their skin as beautiful.
“Nana’s Backyard” in red
26 x 32in Acrylic on Paper
This painting was inspired by my Nana’s Backyard. To resemble the joy and wonder this space brought I depicted this feeling through the warm tones used. Making this memory alive.
“Nana’s Backyard” in blue
26 x 32in Acrylic on Paper
This painting was inspired by my Nana’s Backyard. To resemble the peace and safety this space brought I depicted this feeling through the cool tones used. Making this memory faint but vivid.
“Up or Down”
16 x 20in Acrylic on Canvas
In previous years I had referred to this piece as my cloud painting. Many eyess have shown that this could be a great many things including the sea. And looks to be accurate from each hanging positiion. Now it has found a deserving home.
“Paper Planes”
24 x 36in Oil on Canvas
This piece was curated for my first Patron. He left the substance up to me and requested a sunset. I depicted their favorite sunset with a paper plane representing the childhood dream that brought them to be a pilot.
“First Time” Women’s Bathroom Series I
24 x 20in Oil on Canvas
This is the first of the Women’s Bathroom series that I am depicting. This represents the first time I used highlighter makeup as it was applied for me. Making it the perfect memory to begin this series. A quiet and sacred moment that I captured to represent the space.
“Unseen Labor”
20 x 24in Oil on Canvas
This work was done live and in person at Mesa community college. At the center of the image is a hard to see landscape employee that happened to be there on the day of my lesson. I chose to include her to represent all of the Unseen Labor that goes into such a beautiful landscape.
“Still Life 005”
16 x 20in Oil on Canvas
This piece was done at Mesa CC and was my first try at oil painting.
“Still Life 007”
